Dalwhinnie Distillery

Deep in the stunning, romantic setting of the Scottish Highlands, flanked by mountains and forests, lies the picturesque white-walled Dalwhinnie Distillery. Here you can choose from a range of tours, each of which is finished with a tasting of not only whisky, but delicious chocolates. Learn about the making, tasting, history, flavours, types and specialised lingo of whisky from the experts. Dalwhinnie, which is set in the Cairngorm National Park, holds the unique distinction of being the highest distillery in Scotland, and dates all the way back to 1897. Despite this relatively remote base, it is easily accessible by car and train – just a ten-minute walk from the station. Dalwhinnie Distillery is open to visitors throughout the year. The knowledgeable team can help you find the perfect whisky with guided tastings, or you can opt to peruse the well-stocked shop and pick out a gift.

If you travelling around Scotland then you have to visit Dalwhinnie Distillery. Myself and my partner went as part of our mini moon trip after getting married, the staff were lovely and when they heard it was our honeymoon they gave us an extra tasting bottle as a congratulations. The tour was great and very informative. With COVID restrictions there was only myself, my partner and another couple on the tour which felt well socially distanced and safe. The tasting was great, while we couldnt drink the whisky we could smell it and learn about the chocolates that matched. We then got these to take home so we could try them together. With everything going on right now it was great to be able to do something fun and feel completely at ease.
